When is the Córdoba Califato Gourmet?
The eleventh edition of the Córdoba Califato Gourmet will be held on 19 and 20 October 2026, although some previous activities, such as the Tapas Route, could extend over the previous weeks.
The event concentrates its main programme over two intense days:
- Monday 19, with Califato Lab, Califato Experience and Califato in the Street in the morning and afternoon, culminating in the gala dinner at Bodegas Campos
- Tuesday 20, with the prize-giving ceremony of the tapas competition and the official showcooking. It is advisable to book accommodation in advance, as October is a month of high tourist demand in Córdoba thanks to this event and the beauty of the Córdoba autumn.
Where is the Córdoba Califato Gourmet located?
The Córdoba Califato Gourmet has two main venues that take advantage of the city's monumental surroundings. Outdoor activities, such as Califato in the Street and Califato Lab, take place in the Plaza del Arco del Triunfo, in front of the Visitor Reception Centre (CRV), a privileged space next to the Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba, the Puerta del Puente and the Roman Bridge. For their part, the most exclusive activities, such as the gala dinner and the showcooking, are held at Bodegas Campos, a historic establishment in the heart of the city. This location allows you, between activities, to stroll through the Jewish Quarter or admire the Calleja de las Flores, two of the city's most emblematic corners.
History of the Córdoba Califato Gourmet
The Córdoba Califato Gourmet was born in 2015 with the aim of highlighting Córdoba's gastronomy and its Andalusian heritage. Since its first edition, the event has counted on the participation of more than 120 national and international cooks, including eight chefs with three Michelin stars, ten with two stars and five with one.
Over ten editions, more than 72,000 people have passed through the activities of Califato Street and Califato Lab, which gives an idea of the magnitude it has reached. In 2025, the event premiered a location at the Puerta del Puente, leaving behind the Paseo de la Victoria, a decision that proved a success in terms of attendance and visibility. In 2026, the incorporation of Morocco as guest country represents a further step towards the internationalisation of the event, reinforcing its external projection and favouring gastronomic exchange.
Who organises the Córdoba Califato Gourmet?
The Córdoba Califato Gourmet is promoted by the Córdoba City Council, the Provincial Council, the Regional Government of Andalusia through Turismo Andaluz, and Iprodeco, among other institutions. Coordination of the event is carried out by Antonio Caño, president of the Travel Agencies of Córdoba, who has been a key figure in the evolution of the competition.
In addition, the event has the sponsorship of companies such as Caja Rural del Sur and Makro, and the collaboration of Bodegas Campos as the central venue for the most exclusive activities. The organisation has shown its intention to continue growing and to turn the event into a platform for promoting the territory where gastronomy, tourism and the agri-food sector work together.

Among the most outstanding creations of previous editions are the lamb ingot from the Valle de los Pedroches with cauliflower cream and black garlic from Montalbán, from Restaurante Balma; the Iberian pork nigiri with manteca colorá, sesame and truffle, from Inkieto; the oxtail flamenquín with chocolate, from La Viuda; or the alistados tortillita, from La Cazuela de la Espartería.
Each tapa is offered at a symbolic price of 3 euros, which allows you to tour several establishments and try a wide variety of flavours.
At Califato Lab, cooks from the province reinterpret traditional recipes from the Andalusian and Mediterranean heritage. Dishes such as shepherd-style garlic chicken leg, Iberian suckling pig in two cooking stages or broad bean mazamorra are examples of how traditional cuisine can be reinvented without losing its essence. And at the gala dinner, Paco Morales and his guests offer a high-level gastronomic experience, where each dish is a work of art that reflects the evolution of Córdoba cuisine towards the avant-garde.
