Vinoble 2026 in Jerez: Complete guide to the International Show of Noble Wines

🍷 At The Sun Places we know that there are experiences that transcend the simple act of drinking wine. Vinoble 2026 is one of them: the world's most important event for lovers of generous, fortified and liqueur wines.

From 30 May to 1 June, the majestic Alcázar of Jerez de la Frontera becomes the global epicentre of luxury wine tourism, bringing together century-old wineries, international sommeliers and lovers of good food.

And to experience this unique event, nothing beats booking with The Sun Places in our Luxury Apartments in Sanlúcar de Barrameda, the perfect starting point to explore the Spanish Capital of Gastronomy 2022 and the heart of the Jerez Region.

Vinoble 2026 is not a typical trade fair. It is the only international show dedicated exclusively to fortified wines, a fascinating universe that includes the generous wines of the Jerez Region, Portuguese Ports, Italian Marsalas, Málaga Virgenes and natural sweet wines from around the world.

Its 13th edition, presented by the mayoress of Jerez, María José García-Pelayo, together with the president of the Regulatory Council, César Saldaña, will be held for the first time from Saturday to Monday to facilitate the participation of industry professionals.

📜  Why does Vinoble exist? History and meaning of the International Show of Noble Wines

To understand the magnitude of Vinoble 2026, we must travel back to its origins. Born in 2002 as a pioneering initiative of the Regulatory Council of Jerez Wine and Manzanilla de Sanlúcar, the show was conceived to fill a gap in the global trade fair landscape: there was no specific space for oxidative ageing wines and natural sweet wines.

Since then, Vinoble has established itself as the "Show of Noble Wines", a term that evokes the nobility of wines that have been aged for years in oak barrels using traditional systems such as criaderas and soleras.

Its venue, the Alcázar of Jerez, an Almohad fortress from the 12th and 13th centuries declared a Site of Cultural Interest, provides an incomparable setting to taste these "meditation wines", and underlines the centuries-old link between the city, its history and its wine-growing tradition.

🍷 What are Noble, Generous and Liqueur Wines?

Let's talk about the true protagonists of Vinoble 2026

  • Generous Wines (such as Fino, Manzanilla or Amontillado) are characterised by their biological ageing under a veil of flor
  • Noble Wines or oxidative ageing wines (Oloroso, Palo Cortado) age in contact with oxygen, developing aromas of nuts and noble woods
  • Natural sweet wines (Pedro Ximénez, Moscatel) are obtained from overripe or raisined grapes. Finally, Liqueur Wines are those to which wine alcohol has been added to stop fermentation, preserving part of the grape's natural sugar
  • The richness and diversity of these categories are the soul of this event, which attracts sommeliers, buyers and amateurs from around the world to discover references ranging from classic Sherries to exotic wines from Port, Marsala, Madeira, Cyprus or South Africa.

📍 Where to go to see Vinoble 2026? The Alcázar of Jerez as the epicentre

Vinoble 2026 is held in an incomparable setting: the Alcázar of Jerez de la Frontera.

This fortress, built by the Almohads between the 12th and 13th centuries, is the oldest public building in the city and one of the best-preserved Islamic military complexes on the Peninsula.

During the three days of the show, its courtyards, gardens and centuries-old rooms will house 65 exhibition spaces. Accredited professionals can stroll through the Patio de Armas, taste century-old references in the restored Mosque (13th century) and attend tastings and pairings in the Sala del Molino and the Palacio de Villavicencio.

The organisation has made notable infrastructure improvements, including new outdoor marquees with wooden floors and a ventilation system that will guarantee comfort during the open days.

🍽️ Vinoble and haute cuisine: A Michelin-starred pairing

The Vinoble 2026 edition is especially relevant because it coincides with a milestone for the city: Jerez is the Spanish Capital of Gastronomy 2026.

To celebrate it, the organisation and the Gustos del Sur programme of the Andalusian Regional Government have prepared an ambitious programme of pairings with three of the most award-winning chefs in the city:

  • Javier Muñoz (Restaurante La Carboná, with Michelin star)
  • Juanlu Fernández (LÚ Cocina y Alma)
  • Israel Ramos (Mantúa)

A total of ten wine and food harmony activities will take place in the Patio del Molino, where professionals can taste the most avant-garde proposals of Andalusian haute cuisine.

Furthermore, the presence of the winners of the Brussels World Competition (Samos from Greece, Natural Sweet Wines from France and Marsala from Italy) reinforces the internationalisation of the event and connects the great European wines with the author cuisine of the province of Cádiz.
