🎵 When spring awakens in Barcelona, Primavera Sound will return to turn the city into the world's loudspeaker.
From 3 to 7 June 2026, the Parc del Fòrum will once again tremble to the chords of the best international bands.
At The Sun Places, we want you to experience this event with maximum comfort, staying in our exclusive luxury apartments, located in the most emblematic areas such as Passeig de Gràcia or Plaça Catalunya. Get ready for five days of music, art and gastronomy without limits.
🎸 Primavera Sound 2026 will celebrate its 24th edition from 3 to 7 June 2026, and is expected to bring together more than 250,000 attendees from around the world.
The festival, which has established itself as the most important independent, indie and electronic music festival in Europe, will deploy more than fifteen stages at the Parc del Fòrum venue, by the Mediterranean Sea.
For five days, Barcelona will become a hotbed of creativity, fashion and trends, with concerts starting in the afternoon and lasting until dawn.
The organisation has announced a line-up headed by names such as Pulp, The Smile, Björk, Rosalía, Kendrick Lamar and the long-awaited return of My Bloody Valentine.
In addition, Primavera Sound 2026 will maintain its commitment to gender equality, with 50% of female or non-binary artists on its line-up.
📅 When is Primavera Sound?
Primavera Sound will take place from Wednesday 3 to Sunday 7 June 2026. The main days will be Thursday 4, Friday 5 and Saturday 6, with concerts from 16:00 until 7:00 the following morning.
Wednesday 3 is reserved for a free opening day (by invitation) on the stages of the Auditori del Fòrum, while Sunday 7 will be dedicated to a closing party with top-level DJ sessions.
Tickets have been on sale since January 2026, and weekend passes sold out in less than 48 hours.
There are still day tickets available for Thursday and Sunday, so if you want to attend, we recommend you hurry.
📍 Where is Primavera Sound located?
The epicentre of Primavera Sound will be, once again, the Parc del Fòrum, located in the Sant Martí district, by the sea. This avant-garde venue, built for the 2004 Universal Forum of Cultures, has been the festival's home since 2005.
Its privileged location, just 20 minutes by metro from Plaça Catalunya, allows you to combine the musical experience with discovering Barcelona's main attractions.
From the venue, you will enjoy spectacular views of the Mediterranean, and if you stay with us in the El Born neighbourhood or near Las Ramblas, you will reach the festival in less than half an hour by public transport.
📜 History of Primavera Sound
The history of Primavera Sound is the story of an independent dream that became a global giant.
It was born in 2001 in Barcelona's Poble Espanyol, with just one day and barely 20 bands. The ticket cost 4,500 pesetas (about 27 euros).
That small festival, organised by a group of music-loving friends, already showed promise: its line-up included bands such as Los Planetas, Nacho Vegas and Ariel Rot.
In 2002 it was expanded to two days, and in 2005 it made the definitive move to the Parc del Fòrum, a space that allowed it to grow without limits. Over its more than two decades, Primavera Sound has hosted legends such as Lou Reed, Neil Young, Arcade Fire, Radiohead, and has been a pioneer in bringing back mythical bands such as Pavement, The Replacements and Mazzy Star.
In 2018, it began its international expansion with the Porto edition, followed by Buenos Aires, São Paulo, Los Angeles and, in 2022, Madrid (although the latter was cancelled in 2024).
In 2026, the festival returns to its Barcelona roots with renewed enthusiasm and a line-up that honours its legacy.
🧑💼 Who organises Primavera Sound?
Primavera Sound is organised by the promoter of the same name, Primavera Sound S.L., a Barcelona-based company that has managed to maintain its independent essence despite global success.
The team is led by its founder, Pablo Soler, and its musical director, Gabi Ruiz, who together with a small group of programmers decide each line-up with a mix of criteria, passion and risk.
The organisation is known for its fair treatment of artists, its fight for gender equality at festivals (they were the first to sign the commitment to gender-balanced line-ups in 2019) and for its close collaboration with Barcelona City Council to minimise the impact on the city.
In 2026, the organisation has implemented new sustainability measures, such as the total elimination of single-use plastics and a reusable cup system with a deposit.
They have also improved accessibility for people with reduced mobility and created a safe space against sexist and LGTBIfobic aggression.
🌟 What Primavera Sound represents for Barcelona, Catalonia and The Sun Places
Primavera Sound is much more than a music festival: it is an economic engine, a cultural showcase and a source of pride for Barcelona and all of Catalonia.
For The Sun Places, Primavera Sound represents the perfect opportunity to offer our guests a total immersion in the most vibrant pulse of the city. Our luxury apartments, located in areas such as Passeig de Gràcia or near La Sagrada Familia, are the ideal refuge after a long night of concerts.
We want you to experience the festival with maximum comfort: designer beds, terraces with views, fully equipped kitchens and a concierge service that will help you get the best tickets and book a table at the city's most exclusive restaurants, such as Restaurant Disfrutar (three Michelin stars) or those awarded with the Barcelona Restoration Awards.
🍽️ Gastronomy and special features of Primavera Sound
One of the great hallmarks of Primavera Sound is its commitment to quality gastronomy.
The festival has the Primmmavera space, where some of the best restaurants in Barcelona will gather.
You can enjoy everything from the famous pizzas of Grosso Napoletano to the gourmet burgers of Bacoa, including signature street food options, such as the tacos from El Pachuco or the croquettes from La Croqueta.
There will also be a space dedicated to traditional Catalan cuisine, with dishes such as pa amb tomàquet, escalivada or crema catalana. And for those with a sweet tooth, there will be artisanal chocolate and ice cream stalls.
A curiosity: the festival has an agreement with the World Gastronomy Summit 2026 held in Barcelona in March, so many renowned chefs will offer special pinchos at popular prices.
In addition, the festival is famous for its inclusive and family-friendly atmosphere: there is a children's area called Primavera Kids with activities and concerts for the little ones, as well as a nursing point and a locker service to store backpacks and jackets.
Another special feature is the Auditori Rockdelux, an indoor stage with impeccable acoustics where intimate concerts and DJ sessions are programmed.
