The Metropol Parasol building, more popularly known as the Mushrooms of Seville, is located in the center of Seville, near the Cathedral, the famous Plaza de la Alfalfa, which leads into the city's historic quarter and is surrounded by shops and restaurants.

It is a pergola-shaped structure made of wood and concrete located in the central Plaza de la Encarnación. It consists of a large parasol-shaped grid supported by six pillars that extend from the Plaza de la Encarnación to the city's Plaza Mayor. Its design is inspired by the vaults of Seville Cathedral, and due to its mushroom-like profile, it soon received the popular name "Las Setas de Sevilla" (The Mushrooms of Seville) from the people of Seville.
