📜 A Cycle with History: Origins of the Event

Nights in the Gardens of the Royal Alcázar were born 25 years ago as an innovative initiative: opening the most emblematic monument in Seville to the public at night, combining the enjoyment of heritage with live music.

The cycle is organised by the Royal Alcázar and the City Council of Seville, programmed and produced by the cultural management company ACTIDEA, which each summer designs a programme that has gained prestige both among musicians and the public.

Over the years, this initiative has become one of the most eagerly awaited cultural events of the Seville summer, attracting visitors from all over Spain who seek a unique experience: enjoying music in a UNESCO World Heritage setting, under the starry sky of Seville.

A Dream Setting: The Royal Alcázar and its Millenary Gardens

The Royal Alcázar of Seville is much more than a monument. It is the oldest royal palace still in use in Europe, with over a thousand years of history dating back to the 10th century, when Caliph Abd al‑Rahman III ordered the construction of the Dar al‑Imara, the first seat of government in the space it now occupies.

Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987, along with the Cathedral and the General Archive of the Indies, the Alcázar has witnessed the evolution of the city through the cultures that have inhabited it: Roman, Visigothic, Islamic and Christian.

The gardens that host the concerts are themselves a work of art. Their promenades, fountains, orange trees and the legendary Garden of the Alcoba Bower become the perfect setting each summer night where music blends with nature and history.
