The Zurich Seville Marathon 2025 now has its official image.
In an emotional event held at the Colón Hall of the Seville City Council, the poster for the 39th edition of this legendary race was unveiled. The race will take place on Sunday, February 23, 2025, starting at 08:30 a.m. from the Glorieta de Buenos Aires. An event that promises to be the most powerful in its history and has already generated incredible anticipation.
🎨 What does The Zurich Seville Marathon 2025 Poster look like?
The Zurich Seville Marathon 2025 Poster is a work that captures the essence of the race and the city. Designed by Seville-based artist Manuel García Romero, known for his career in sports and cultural poster art, this year's image pays homage to the union between sport and Seville's monumental heritage.
The artwork depicts a runner crossing the Triana Bridge at dawn, with the Giralda and the Torre del Oro blurred in the background, as silent witnesses to effort and self-improvement. The warm tones of the Seville sky blend with the colors of sportswear, creating a dynamic and vibrant composition.
According to the author himself during the presentation: "I wanted to capture that magical moment when runners cross the city as it is still waking up. The light of Seville, its monuments and the effort of the athletes merge into an image that I hope moves everyone who sees it".
The Zurich Seville Marathon 2025 Poster is already on display in prominent spaces in the city and will be the official image that will travel the world promoting this race that attracts thousands of visitors every year.
📅 When and where was The Zurich Seville Marathon 2025 Poster presented?
The official presentation of The Zurich Seville Marathon 2025 Poster took place on Friday, February 14, 2025, in the Colón Hall of the Seville City Council, a top-tier setting for an event that is already a living part of Spanish athletics history.
The event, hosted by Canal Sur Television journalists Inma Lago and Ángel Gámiz, was attended by the Mayor of Seville, José Luis Sanz, and members of his government team, as well as representatives from the world of sports, sponsors, and of course, the real protagonists: the runners.
🏆 An event full of emotions and tributes
The presentation of The Zurich Seville Marathon 2025 Poster was much more than a ceremonial event. It also served to pay tribute to those who have made the success of the race possible over these nearly 40 years of history.
Mayor José Luis Sanz reaffirmed the City Council's commitment to the race: "Our goal is to maintain the upward trend and participation records. It is no coincidence, and the municipal government will spare no effort to make Seville the world capital of marathons. We want to reach 20,000 race numbers by 2027".
He also highlighted the economic and media impact of the race: "The Marathon generates an estimated economic impact of more than 15 million euros. This has a great impact on the image and visibility of Seville throughout the world. Proof of this is that more than half of the participants are foreigners".
🌟 The honorees of the night
One of the most emotional moments of the Zurich Seville Marathon 2025 presentation gala was the recognition of individuals and institutions fundamental to the race.
The Mayor and delegates Silvia Pozo (Sports), Evelia Rincón (Cleaning, Parks and Gardens) and Ignacio Flores (Security) presented the awards to:
- José Carlos Jaenes, the first Sevillian classified in the inaugural 1985 edition.
- Vicente Antón and Tina María Ramos, the runners with the most victories in the Seville Marathon.
- Roger Puigbó y Verdaguer, the most decorated Paralympic athlete.
- The five runners who have participated in all editions: Luis Caballero Jurado, Antonio Gelo Colón, Eduardo Silva Proenza, Antonio González Benítez and Julio Manuel Molina Castellano (the last two from Seville).
But undoubtedly, the most moving moment came with the remembrance of one of the marathon's most beautiful stories: José Manuel Roas pushing his son Pablo's wheelchair across the finish line on six occasions. An example of love, perseverance and pure sport that moved everyone present.
🎤 Abel Antón's speech
The gala also featured a speech by Abel Antón, world marathon champion in 1999 and considered the best Spanish marathon runner in history, as well as an ambassador for the Seville Marathon. His presence gave even more substance to a night dedicated to athletics and the values of sport.
🎶 The crowning touch with Arcángel
The evening ended on a high note with a performance by Huelva-born flamenco singer Arcángel, a regular runner in the Zurich Seville Marathon, who delighted the audience with his music. A perfect fusion of sport and art, two of Andalusia's great hallmarks.
