Seville is preparing to welcome Their Majesties from the East in a historic edition that will feature 30 floats, new additions and a route that will once again fill every corner of the city with illusion. Magic is about to overflow through the streets of Seville.
When is The Three Kings' Day Parade 2025 in Seville celebrated?
The Three Kings' Day Parade 2025 in Seville will be held, as has been tradition since last year, on the afternoon-evening of January 4th, advancing one day before the Epiphany festivity so that families can calmly enjoy one of the most anticipated events of the year.
Rain has never prevented Their Majesties from parading through the streets of the city. Nor have other historical vicissitudes such as the Civil War or the coronavirus pandemic. Although many things have changed since that first edition, the tradition of receiving the Three Kings on the eve of Epiphany Day remains more intact than ever. And in 2025, The Three Kings' Day Parade 2025 in Seville promises to be the most spectacular in recent decades.
A historic procession: 30 floats to dream
The Three Kings' Day Parade 2025 in Seville will feature thirteen completely new floats, which join the classic ones repeating from previous years, reaching a total of 30 floats that will form the most ambitious procession in recent times.
The artistic director of the Parade and responsible for the creative designs, Jesús Corral Zambruno, has worked for months on designs that, in his own words, "overflow with colour and fantasy", designed to awaken the illusion of children and transport adults back to their childhood.
Among the designs by Jesús Corral Zambruno, the floats dedicated to Sevillian entities and institutions stand out:
- Hermandad de la Amargura, which inspires the design of "The Nativity" in the Third Centenary in San Juan de la Palma
- Llopis Group, dedicated to environmental services and ecological awareness
- Illustrious Official College of Nursing of Seville, on the 160th anniversary of its creation
- Fernando III University, celebrating the first year of university education in Seville
- Royal Circle of Farmers, celebrating 165 years of existence
In addition, this year The Three Kings' Day Parade 2025 in Seville incorporates representations of great myths and children's stories such as Peter Pan or Atlantis, without forgetting classic childhood figures like Zipi and Zape. As Javier Hernández Lucas, general director of Major Festivals of the Seville City Council, highlighted, these floats not only entertain, but "are a learning experience for children, who in addition to children's representations find great values such as reading or healthy and balanced eating".
Route: 9.5 kilometres of illusion
As in previous years, the procession will depart from the Rectorate of the University of Seville, along Palos de la Frontera street, at 4:15 p.m. It is expected that the float of King Balthazar – the last in the procession – will reach the old Tobacco Factory at 10:00 p.m.
The Three Kings' Day Parade 2025 in Seville will take almost six hours to complete an itinerary of almost 9.5 kilometres that will travel through more than thirty streets of the city, bringing magic and illusion to every neighbourhood it passes through.
What The Three Kings' Day Parade 2025 in Seville means for everyone
For children:
- The Three Kings' Day Parade 2025 in Seville is, above all, the confirmation that magic exists. It is seeing Their Majesties in person, waving from their floats, throwing candies and returning smiles. It is the night when everything is possible, when dreams become tangible and when illusion reaches its peak before going to sleep and waiting, with eyes tightly closed, for the arrival of gifts.
For parents:
- The Three Kings' Day Parade 2025 in Seville is reliving childhood through their children's eyes. It is the emotion of sharing a tradition that they themselves experienced as children and now pass on to the next generation. It is carrying children on shoulders so they can see better, picking up candies from the ground and, above all, seeing their little ones' faces when they spot Melchior, Gaspar and Balthazar. It is also the crowning touch to intense Christmas festivities, the prelude to returning to school and the peace of mind of knowing that magic is still alive.
For Seville:
- The Three Kings' Day Parade 2025 in Seville is a hallmark of identity. It is the demonstration that this city lives its traditions with incomparable passion. The streets are adorned, families occupy their places hours in advance, and the entire city comes to a standstill to welcome Their Majesties. It is an event that transcends the religious to become a popular, massive celebration deeply rooted in the hearts of Sevillians. Furthermore, it marks the official closing of Christmas and the starting signal for daily activity, although always with an eye on the next celebration.
The Triana Parade: the most anticipated
- Although The Three Kings' Day Parade 2025 in Seville is the great official event, we cannot forget that the city says goodbye to the Christmas festivities with the magic of the Three Kings filling the streets with almost thirty parades distributed across all districts. Among them, the Triana Parade stands out as one of the most anticipated for its tradition and popularity, with a route that runs through the streets of Seville's most traditional neighbourhood and brings together thousands of people every year.
With the end of the Parade, the return to school arrives
With the passing of the last float and the end of The Three Kings' Day Parade 2025 in Seville, the Christmas festivities will be officially concluded. The next day, January 5th, children will wake up with gifts from Their Majesties, but also with the awareness that the next day, January 6th, is time to enjoy the toys... and on the 7th, back to school.
But that will come later. Before that, the most magical night of the year remains. And Seville, one more year, will be ready to live it.
