The 81st edition of the Vuelta, which will take place from 22 August to 13 September, will start in Monaco with an individual time trial through the streets of Monte Carlo and will finish for the first time in Granada, at the foot of the Alhambra.

The Vuelta Ciclista a España, popularly known as La Vuelta, is one of the three Grand Tours of world cycling, alongside the Tour de France and the Giro d'Italia.
It was first held in 1935, organised by journalist Clemente López Dóriga and the newspaper Informaciones. The Belgian Gustaaf Deloor was proclaimed winner of that first edition, which featured 14 stages and 3,431 kilometres of racing.
The race has suffered several interruptions throughout its history: between 1937 and 1940 due to the Spanish Civil War, between 1943 and 1944 due to the Second World War, and between 1951 and 1954 due to the country's poor economic situation.
Since 1955, the Vuelta has been held without interruption. Throughout its 81 editions, the race has featured great champions such as Roberto Heras and Primož Roglič, both with four victories, and the current champion, Jonas Vingegaard.
The Vuelta has had a great relationship with Seville. The city has witnessed starts and finishes in past editions, and in 2026 it once again becomes a protagonist with a stage that will run entirely through the province.
