💃 There are places in Seville where flamenco is not seen, it is felt. Íntima Triana is one of them.
Hidden in the heart of the Triana Market, this intimate and authentic show has won over those seeking flamenco in its purest state: without microphones, without amplification, without artifice. With a capacity of just 28 seats, the audience sits barely a metre from the artists, creating a unique connection that turns every performance into an unrepeatable experience.
At The Sun Places, where luxury is defined by authenticity and memorable experiences, we want to invite you to discover this hidden treasure of Sevillian flamenco. Stay with us in our Luxury Apartments in Seville and let yourself be carried away by the magic of deep song.
Flamenco is the soul of Seville. And in Triana, its birthplace, it beats more strongly than anywhere else. Íntima Triana was born with the vocation of returning to flamenco its most authentic essence, the one that was lived in family gatherings and in neighbours' courtyards, where singing, playing and dancing were shared without barriers.
The show takes place at CasaLa Teatro, a space within the Triana Market, a historic building that has witnessed the life of the neighbourhood since the 19th century.
Each performance brings together three artists (singer, guitarist and dancer) who perform the most emblematic flamenco styles: soleá, bulerías, alegrías and tangos. The absence of fixed choreography and improvisation make each show different, turning every night into a unique experience.
🏛️ CasaLa Teatro: the smallest theatre in the world where Íntima Triana beats
The show Íntima Triana takes place at CasaLa Teatro, a space that could be the smallest theatre in the world. Located at stalls 11 and 12 of the Triana Market, this small theatre occupies the space of two former market stalls, with a stage three metres wide by two metres deep and 28 seats arranged in just five rows.
Its founder, Fernando Rodalva, a sculptor and Triana resident, collected seats that belonged to the Teatro Lope de Vega in Seville and relocated them in this unique space, giving them a new life.
The idea came about when Fernando, who already organised cultural activities on the rooftop of his house with his wife Sara, decided to move his project to the market to "supply culture" to the residents of Triana, just as the market supplies them with food.
Thus Íntima Triana was born, a name that already anticipates the experience of closeness and authenticity it offers.
📅 Dates, times and how to attend Íntima Triana?
Íntima Triana offers regular performances throughout the year. The shows usually take place from Tuesday to Saturday, with afternoon and evening sessions.
It is recommended to check the updated programme on the Triana Market website or on the venue's social media, although it should be noted that CasaLa Teatro withdrew from social media after the pandemic to maintain the authenticity of the space and avoid mass touristification.
The ticket price is €35 per person and booking in advance is essential, as capacity is limited to 28 seats. To get there, you must cross the bustling Triana Market and locate stalls 11 and 12, where the theatre is located.
Íntima Triana is an experience that leaves no one indifferent, and tickets sell out quickly, so booking weeks in advance is recommended.
🎭 A unique experience: flamenco without microphones, just a metre from the artists
What makes Íntima Triana special is its intimate and authentic format. There are no microphones or amplification.
The singing, guitar and dance are heard and felt in their purest state, just a metre from the stage. The closeness between the audience and the artists generates an "intimacy and complicity" difficult to find in other formats.
Every gesture, every deep cry, every heel stamp is perceived with an intensity that moves you. It is a "skin-deep" experience, as those who have been lucky enough to live it describe it.
The absence of technical artifice allows flamenco to express itself in its most primitive and sincere form, connecting with the deepest roots of Andalusian art.
Íntima Triana is not a show for tourists; it is an experience for flamenco lovers seeking the essence of deep song.
🏛️ Triana Market: history and tradition
The Triana Market is one of the most emblematic buildings in the neighbourhood. Its history dates back to 1821, when the original Triana Market was installed on the site occupied by the extinct Castle of San Jorge, a 12th-century Almohad fortification. The castle, which for three centuries was the seat of the Inquisition (1481-1785), was demolished due to its dilapidated state, and the market was built in its place.
In 1991, the old market was demolished to build a new one, but the discovery of the castle's archaeological remains halted the works.
Finally, in 2001, the new Triana Market opened its doors, and in 2009 the interpretation centre of the Castle of San Jorge was inaugurated, whose remains can be visited in the market's basement.
Today, the Triana Market is an example of renewal and adaptation to new times, where traditional stalls coexist with new businesses, including the theatre space CasaLa Teatro, where Íntima Triana takes place.
