The Córdoba Book Fair 2026 takes place from 23 October to 1 November at the Bulevar del Gran Capitán, consolidated for the second consecutive year in the city's autumn calendar. Organised by Aplico (Association of Stationery Shops and Bookshops of Córdoba) and literarily directed by Salvador Gutiérrez Solís, this edition has "the journey" as its connecting thread and features Dolores Redondo in charge of inaugurating the event by presenting her new novel.
For The Sun Places, this is a unique occasion to offer our guests an experience that combines luxury, culture and literature. Our Luxury Apartments in Córdoba are the perfect starting point to experience this literary milestone.
The event is structured around a diverse programme covering all literary genres, with special attention to younger readers. In addition to the 48 bookshop and publisher stalls, the event offers meetings with authors, presentations of new publications, book signings and parallel activities organised by the Centro Andaluz de las Letras (CAL).
The day of 24 October, San Rafael Day, revives the slogan "Por San Rafael, un libro y un pastel", an initiative that last year had an "overwhelming" reception and which seeks to promote local authors and the tradition of the Córdoba cake.
Córdoba, the city that was home to Antonio Gala and that today keeps his legacy alive through the Foundation that bears his name, once again demonstrates its commitment to literature with this 51st edition
When is the Book Fair held?
The Córdoba Book Fair 2026 takes place from 23 October to 1 November 2026 at the Bulevar del Gran Capitán.
The official inauguration is by Dolores Redondo on Friday 23 October at 20:00, with the presentation of her novel Todas las noches, todas las ciudades, in an event presented by Salvador Gutiérrez Solís.
On Saturday 24 October, coinciding with San Rafael Day, the special day "Por San Rafael, un libro y un pastel" is celebrated. The programme extends until Sunday 1 November, with daily activities in the morning and afternoon.
Where is the event located in Córdoba?
The Bulevar del Gran Capitán is the chosen setting, right in the city centre, just a few minutes' walk from the Mosque-Cathedral and the Jewish Quarter. This urban space, which already successfully hosted the previous edition, allows combining a visit to the fair with a walk through the most emblematic corners of Córdoba.
From our Luxury Accommodation in Córdoba, you can arrive on foot and enjoy the city's cultural life without the need for travel.
A tradition of 51 editions
The Córdoba Book Fair 2026 reaches its 51st edition, consolidating itself as the oldest literary event in the city. After the success of the 2025 edition, which involved the move to autumn, Aplico decided to keep the autumn dates and recover the celebration of San Rafael Day as the "Cordoban Sant Jordi".
This year, the thematic axis is "the journey", understood not only as geographical displacement but as a symbol of personal growth through reading. Salvador Gutiérrez Solís, literary director, explains that "starting from the idea of reading as a traveller and books as vehicles that make us travel, the Book Fair is proposed as the place from which that journey departs". The organisation works with the aim of reflecting "the importance of books and reading in our lives, as an element of personal growth".
Who organises the Córdoba Book Fair?
The Córdoba Book Fair 2026 is organised by Aplico (Association of Stationery Shops and Bookshops of Córdoba), with the subsidy of the Córdoba City Council and the sponsorship of Fundación Kutxabank.
Literary direction is by Salvador Gutiérrez Solís, while the coordination of children's activities is the responsibility of Ana Ramos.
The production of the event is by Verbo Servicios Culturales. In addition, the Centro Andaluz de las Letras (CAL) collaborates with its own programme that includes meetings with authors such as Karina Sainz Borgo, Jesús Carrasco, Rosario Villajos and Juan Manuel Gil.
