🏛️ Every October, Seville opens the doors of its most unique spaces to invite locals and travellers to look at their surroundings with different eyes. This edition is especially significant: it marks 150 years since the birth of Aníbal González Álvarez-Ossorio, the famous regionalist architect who transformed the city's physiognomy forever. Under the title "Aníbal González y la transformación de la ciudad", the event explores his role in modern urban planning and his close collaboration with the artisans and professionals of his time.
At The Sun Places, where luxury is defined by authenticity and connection with the territory, we invite you to immerse yourself in this celebration that turns Seville's streets into an open classroom of history, art and design.
Meticulously organised by the Official College of Architects of Seville (COAS) and the FIDAS Foundation, the XXV Architecture Week combines the rigour of research with activities open to the general public, seeking to bring the value of built heritage closer to all citizens.
📅 Dates and agenda of Seville Architecture Week 2026
The central activities take place consecutively from Monday 5 to Saturday 10 October 2026. The opening session will feature interventions of great local relevance, including Nuria Canivell, dean of the COAS; Aníbal González Serrano, grandson of the honoured architect; and José Luis Sanz, mayor of Seville, marking the start of historic cultural days.
📍 Location of meetings and cultural activities
The headquarters of the event is located at the seat of the Official College of Architects of Seville itself (located in the emblematic Plaza Cristo de Burgos, 35). From this nerve centre, the different architectural analysis itineraries branch out through key areas of the city: the historic centre, the Arenal neighbourhood, the Campana-Encarnación axis and the surroundings of the María Luisa Park, connecting with the picturesque Porvenir neighbourhood.
🏛️ Exclusive exhibition: Aníbal González and urban development
The highlight of this year's dissemination is the **documentary exhibition** open from 5 to 30 October at the COAS headquarters. Curated from the invaluable historical funds of Aníbal González safeguarded by FIDAS, the exhibition traces Seville's urban mutations through seven nerve centres, displaying digitised original plans, correspondence from the era, period photographs and postcards reflecting the turn of the century.
🚶 Architectural routes through regionalist Seville
Although places for the official guided tours by architects have sold out due to very high demand, the proposed itineraries trace the perfect map to independently discover the Seville that changed its skin at the beginning of the 20th century:
- Historic Centre Axis: Analyses the openings of the great modern avenues, from Avenida de la Constitución to Cuesta del Rosario.
- Arenal Walk: Discover the civil and port architecture starting from the representative Craft Market of the Postigo del Aceite.
- From Campana to Encarnación: A route to observe the contrast between traditional expansion reforms and 21st-century interventions.
- From María Luisa Park to Porvenir: The residential nucleus of the Ibero-American Exposition, where clean brick and Triana tiles are the protagonists.
💬 Debate tables and specialised conferences
The nights of architecture week concentrate intellectual debate at the COAS headquarters with free-access talks until full capacity:
- Keynote Lecture: "Conversaciones sobre Aníbal", given by the prestigious emeritus professor of History of Architecture, Víctor Pérez Escolano.
- Contextual Table: Analysis of the European and national framework in which Andalusian regionalism developed.
- Materiality and Crafts Table: A unique meeting between contemporary architects, ceramicists and masters of traditional construction to vindicate noble materials.
