When does the Antonio Gala Córdoba Foundation open?
The Antonio Gala Foundation is open to the public all year round, with visiting hours from Monday to Friday from 12:00 to 14:00 and from 18:00 to 20:00, and Saturdays from 12:00 to 14:00. However, this autumn 2026 concentrates two exceptional dates. The first is the theatrical premiere of *Anillos para una dama* on Thursday 22 October at 20:00, with free entry until full capacity, with prior reservation on the Foundation's website.
The second is the commemoration of the 25th anniversary, whose main events are scheduled for November. In addition, from 9 November to 10 January 2027, the headquarters will host an extraordinary exhibition of the winning works of the Queen Sofía Painting and Sculpture Prize.

The space is located at 20 Ambrosio de Morales Street, in the heart of the city's historic centre, just a few minutes' walk from the Mosque-Cathedral and the Jewish Quarter. Its headquarters is the former Convent of Corpus Christi, a 17th-century building that preserves an entrance courtyard with arcades and frescoes, a chapel with a Roman mosaic and a cloister of special artistic value. History of the Antonio Gala Córdoba Foundation
The history of the Foundation is the story of a dream come true. Antonio Gala, born in Brazatortas (Ciudad Real) in 1930 but Cordoban at heart, founded the institution in October 2002 with a clear objective: to create a space where young creators between 18 and 25 years old could dedicate themselves freely to their literary, musical or visual projects for a year.
Since then, more than 300 students have passed through its residencies, and the institution now faces its 25th promotion. Gala died in Córdoba on 28 May 2023, and his ashes rest in the garden of the Foundation's novitiate, fulfilling his last wish. In June 2026, the façade of the headquarters was illuminated with a backlit plaque reproducing his poem *Córdoba*, consolidating the permanent tribute to the writer.

The Antonio Gala Córdoba Foundation is a private non-profit institution, registered in the Foundations Registry of the Ministry of Culture. Its board is chaired by Francisco Moreno, and it has the support of institutions such as the Cajasol Foundation, which in May 2026 signed a new collaboration agreement to promote the Gala Fest, the events of the 25th anniversary and the residency programme. The premiere of *Anillos para una dama* is the first production of its theatre company, directed by Nieves Palma and with a cast trained at the Higher School of Dramatic Art of Córdoba. The play, originally premiered in 1973, is one of the great works of contemporary Spanish theatre and allows you to rediscover Gala's dramatic voice in the house that bears his name.
